MLS® sales of existing homes in Nova Scotia are expected to increase slightly in 2010 to 9,500 units, up from the projected 9,275 units for 2009. The average sales price for 2010 is forecast to be $199,250, up 2.4% from $194,500 projected for 2009.
Existing home sales nationwide through the MLS® for 2010 are forecast to be 419,400 units, slightly less than the 420,700 sales expected for 2009. These sales levels are similar to the sales of 2002 and also represent a significant drop from the high water mark of approximately 525,000 units in 2007.
Across Canada the average sales price for 2010 is forecast to be $306,300, up 1.6% from $301,400 projected for 2009.
